An ∞ number of reasons to join Deepnote 💙

Very proud to announce that I am transitioning into the Head of People role! Yay! This means I’ll be now focusing solely on one portfolio company, Deepnote. I know, it couldn’t be more obvious than having #3793EF on my LinkedIn picture background.

That being sad — I am not leaving Credo Ventures and the VC world for good. One day, I’ll be back and hopefully packed with more experience and knowledge to be shared within other fascinating startups. 💙 I cannot be more grateful for my most empowering, kind and just awesome Credo team and for giving me this opportunity taking over this world once again. So hey “I am not going, I am just growing. 🌱”

So right now, I need to do what I need to do. Rolling up my sleeves once again, digging deep into one of my most favorite parts. The building part! 👷🏿‍♀️

And what’s Deepnote? 👩🏽‍🔬

Data science is a relatively nascent field. Data tools are not as mature and intuitive as the tools we know from the engineering world. Jakub and his amazing team are changing that. Deepnote helps data teams work in notebooks in the cloud, effectively, collaboratively, with all the bells and whistles you would expect from modern engineering and productivity tools. They are on a mission to build a tool that everyone loves. Data scientists are drivers of innovation and productivity for their teams — it’s about time they finally have better tools and platforms to support increasingly complex analyses. Data scientists are also really good at finding answers to real problems, and Deepnote helps them do just that.

The above saying includes building the software people love to use. I fell in love with that instantly because I genuinely believe that Deepnote is here to change the world for the better. As of today, Deepnote is the go-to exploratory tool for hundreds of teams across the industry and academia, from companies like Discord and Gusto, to students, teachers and research teams at Cambridge, Harvard and universities around the world. I am so pumped about joining Deepnote because of their ambition to revolutionize how data teams work and help them solve the most difficult problems in data science.

A case in point is the story of VantAI, a biotech startup working on computational drug discovery. Deepnote helps VantAI improve collaboration and iteration velocity in an interdisciplinary team working to tackle some of the worst diseases.

  • I’ll be joining Deepnote to help build out the best team. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside this team for quite some time already as a Talent Partner at Credo Ventures. I observed that this is a team of incredibly sharp minds, passionate and enormously kind humans that I am proud to become a part of.
  • There is so much to learn from all these people who were leading data science teams, working in world-class companies, laboratories, and building platforms for academic publishing. There is so much expertise and diversity in their precious minds and I believe this will help build the product in the right direction.
  • At Deepnote, we will work with people who are changing the way data teams collaborate and that can lead to solving the biggest problems.
  • Deepnote team is made by all those curious people who want to do things that are so hard. I cannot honestly wait to work with people who want to solve hard problems.

Crafting people & culture excellence together ❤️

I believe that Deepnote got a patent for making a delightful hiring experience with Větrníks. Vetrnik in Deepnote hiring culture is so essential that it makes me think it's even in their DNA. You can expect one, two or dozens in just couple of days if you’re still considering to join.

We all already know that HR & recruitment is broken so my big mission as the first People ops hire is gonna be all about the attempt of fixing it.

  • There is lovely written communication and I believe that it’s critical when you build a remote-first organization. And they do too. For example, the Deepnote team loves and lives in Notion. They track their user interviews, manage their hiring pipeline, shape new features and everything that’s said gets captured in Notion.
  • Everyone at Deepnote owns a part of the company and gets to see the results of their decisions.
